Manufacturing the neoCzen Camp knife: work in progress…

In this topic you can see all the phases to produce the neoCzen camp knife.

With the help from some users neoCzen Forum has developed an idea to produce a camp knife, this is the first 2D drawing

Molletta has developed the 3D drawings and all the renderings

Once again the preferred steel for such kind of knives is Calmax for blades. Black and green Micarta for handles.
Unfortunately the only format available is in thick billets.
It will be "sliced" down to 9 mm plates

Sawing machine is working on the block of Calmax

After the cutting operations.

All the plates were been laser cut in order to obtain the blade Profile.

Next step will be the CNC grinding.

It will be ready within the last days of December or January 2010.

Apparemment Gianni a oublié les ajourements de la plate semelle sur son plan . :(
Est-ce que quelqu'un peut lui traduire ça s'il vous plaît ( je ne suis pas doué pour le language technique en anglais) .

Le deuxième plan c'est le nôtre, le premire est celui que Gianni a établi et sur lequel il compte se baser, je le répète il a oublié d'y faire figurer les ajourements de la plate semelle, il serait fâcheux qu'il les oublies lors de la phase de découpe .

Perso je trouverais fâcheux de les faire mais ce n'est que mon avis.

J'm'explik, le couteau va faire +/- 500 grammes, ces deux évidements vont faire chuter le poids de +/- 20 grammes...

Hors avec une lame de cette taille il y a déjà un max de poids à l'avant, le poids à l'avant c'est bien pour frapper mais pour rien d'autre en retirer encore dans le manche c'est accentuer ceci, pour moi le gain en poids total ne vaut pas le déséquilibre accru.
