Hi all,

I would like to show my work, but first some words about me. I born in Skalica in Slovakia on Czech-Slovak border and now I live on other the side of the border in small villiage which named Sudoměřice. This place with vineyards, fields and stream form very significant part of my childhood. So I love stories... stories from books, people stories and stories of country.
First attached photo I took at 31. December 2019 on my favourite place with really stong feelling. There is chapel with inscription: "Everything will pass, Good will be forever." One man had build up chapel as acknowledgment for healed of his son. I write it, because this is one of story which inspiried me in my work and life.
I make my blades from reclaimed steel and handles from wood which I found in country or which I got as gift. I like to use other materials as bone, antler too. Shapes of my knives and sheaths are similliar with North traditional knives. I forged my blades on charcoal with homemade powerhammer.

Finally I present my work. Is it last knife from my worskhop. Welded blade is forged from old, broken springs of agriculture machine and from the bearings. These springs I found under old oaks on Kovalovec meadows. Is it without my signature because blade was on other my knife and when I use it for this new I grind away JP.

Guard is from patinated bronze and on handle is small patch of cow bone, which I found on the way to the Skalica hills. Last part I bought from my friend and it is Palisander Honduras burl wood.

Hand sewn scandinavian type sheath with leather inserts in the blade part. Leather, knitted lanyard with small decoration from same wood as on handle.

Knife is still available, if you want it that contact me on: jakubpetras.noze@gmail.coom

Thanks for looking!

Jakub

Amazing work! I really like the work done on the handle! thup
As well, your working philosophy is nice, your knives have stories to tell, and that's what I like with a blade :)
Looking forward to see more of your work!

Hi Jakub,
Thank you very much for sharing your work with us. I'm very impressed by the quality of your production, the beauty of the shapes, the wonderful pieces of wood you are working with, what you are doing with the leather... A very big rand of applause !
